Poly-V Sheaves & Belts
Poly-V® drives are drives featuring ribs that run the length of the belt instead of having teeth that run across the belt. Poly-V® drives excel at applications that require high speeds, small widths, and short distances because of the increase in horsepower per inch of belt width. This is possible because of the design of its lengthwise grooves that give Poly-V® drives performance while maintaining ultra-low noise. These drives operate efficiently in various different applications such as:
- Exercise equipment
- Agricultural machinery
- Medical Equipment
- High-speed machine tools
From stock, Toronto Gear Works offers 6-groove Poly-V® sheaves with finished bores with keyways or bored for QD bushing for J section Poly-V® belts. Also from stock, we provide 10 and 16 groove Poly-V® sheaves bored for QD bushings designed for use with J section belts. TGW stocks steel Poly-V® sheaves with black oxide coating.
Toronto Gear works offers Poly-V® belts with 0.092” rib width and with a thickness of 0.138”. Poly-V® belts have a larger contact surface area than flat belts or even standard V-Belt drives. With improved transmission of power and a more compact design, Poly-V® drives are ideal drives for the precision mechanical component industry.
Custom Poly-V® drives are available upon request based on your detailed specifications or print.
Toronto Gear Works stocks Poly-V belt sheaves in black oxide coated steel for 6 groove, 10 groove, and 16 groove "J" section Poly-V belts..
Poly-V belts are designed for high performance on high speed smaller diameter sheaves.
